Context
Louise Watson specialises in meticulous and intricate hand embroidery. Her work is concerned with detail, the close observation of natural forms and textures. She uses fabric paints to colour the background material, machine embroidery to create texture and hand stitching for three-dimensional effects. Her sketchbooks give an insight into her research and creativity. Her exhibits include pictures, hangings, jewellery and cards. She gives workshops and talks for the Embroiderers Guild and other interested groups throughout the country. She is a member of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen. Her work is on permanent display at the Guild Gallery in Painswick.
